Frequently Asked Questions

Is therapy the right choice for me?

Yes. Therapy can be helpful to almost everyone, whether it’s for issues like trauma, anxiety, or depression, or just general stress and life transitions. Many people find it helpful to have a safe space to talk about their lives with a trusted person. It’s all about finding the right fit.

How will we meet?

At this time, I only offer teletherapy to Massachusetts and Idaho residents. You must be in the state when we meet. We will meet through a secure online platform that is HIPAA compliant. You will receive the same high-quality care and attention online as you would in an in-person setting.

What is the length and frequency of sessions?

Individual sessions are 45 minutes long and happen on a weekly basis. Meeting biweekly or monthly will depend on availability. I offer extended sessions, 60-90 minutes, for couples and family therapy, depending on the wants and needs of the clients. If the schedule suggested does not meet your current needs we can work together to create the right fit for you.

What should I expect for our first session?

In the first session, we will get to know each other. I’ll ask you some background questions such as what brought you to seek out therapy, your current work and home life situation, and more in-depth questions about your family of origin and your current mental health issues.

Do you accept insurance?

I am not currently accepting insurance. I am considered an out-of-network provider. While every insurance plan is different, if you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible to receive partial or full reimbursement through your insurance provider. I recommend calling your insurance provider directly to understand your benefits, and how to submit your claims. I will provide a monthly receipt (called a “Superbill”) which can be submitted so that you can seek reimbursement from your insurance company. This means you pay for services upfront and are reimbursed a portion of what you have paid.

Do you provide medication?

No. However, I can provide you with referrals for local prescribers.
